Certified Arborist Providing Tree Removal, Tree Trimming, & Tree Pruning
in Stevens & Spokane Counties, Washington

Hi, I’m Darren Palmer, the owner of Palms Tree Service & Landscaping and a certified arborist serving northeastern Washington.

My family moved to the Deer Park area in 1980. My wife, Jackie, and I love raising our daughter, Sahalie, in this community, and I am humbled to be able to serve so many great customers.

I’ve been landscaping since 1988. I learned to prune shade trees in the tree nursery industry in the Willamette Valley, which is key to my understanding of proper branch development and structure for tree longevity. My pruning techniques for shrubs is also defined by the growth habits of the plant over its life. (In other words, there are better ways to prune shrubs than shearing.)

Along with maintaining trees and shrubs, I also enjoy landscape design. Designing a landscape to flow aesthetically and function for a family’s activities is a creative outlet for me.

Tree service sort of fell into my lap. My nursery experience made it easy for me to become an arborist and transition into tree service. It’s fun, too, since I like to climb trees. I continue to learn, keeping my Arborist Certification by continuing my education. And I have also had the pleasure of studying fruit tree pruning under local masters who educate the orchard industry.

Patios are my real passion. My wife says I am artistic, and as a good husband, I won’t argue. I certainly can’t argue that I have a true enjoyment for design and execution of beautiful outdoor living spaces, walkways and other hardscapes. I like the creative process, and the end product is very gratifying.
